Genoa-Kingston Fire Protection District responded to 80 calls in 2017 - 5.3 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Genoa-Kingston included 39 fires - 24 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 13 other fires.

In all, the department saw $579,650 in fire loss - or about $14,863 per fire.

The department also received 41 false calls.

The Genoa-Kingston Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $1,182,166 in 2017.
