Shabbona Fire Protection Department responded to 26 calls in 2018 - 21.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Shabbona included 17 fires - nine structure fires, two vehicle fires and six other fires.

In all, the department saw $65,000 in fire loss - or about $3,824 per fire.

The department also received nine false calls.

The Shabbona Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $268,959 in 2018.
