Many people have asked me why I no longer support James Marter. In 2020, me and local Republicans worked very hard for Marter. We put out signs, passed out his campaign literature, and talked with many people. We were very successful. Marter won in Sandwich and Somonauk! But sadly, we were the only area that Marter won in the 14th District. Marter couldn’t even win in Oswego, the town he lived in for over 24 years and where he raised his family.

Marter has been running for the past seven years.

In 2016 Marter ran against Mark Kirk, a sitting Senator in the State of Illinois. He lost by a lot! If you asked him why he ran, he said, “I was asked to run against Mark Kirk.”

In 2018 Marter ran against Adam Kinzinger in the 16th Congressional District. Another huge loss. When asked why he ran against Kinzinger he said, “I was asked to run against Adam Kinzinger.”

In 2020 Marter ran against seven candidates in the 14th Congressional District. Marter came in 5th with 11% of the vote. If you ask Marter he will tell you, “He was asked to run in the 14th District.”

In this race, Marter has said many times, “He is the only one who lives in the district.” Marter has even drawn circles on a district map to show where everyone lives. In the flyer that Marter mailed out, he states, “They don’t live in the district, they never lived in the district.”

That didn’t bother Marter when he ran against Adam Kinzinger in the 16th District. Marter didn’t live in the 16th District, and he never lived in the 16th District!

Marter sounds like a Democrat – there are two standards, one for me and a different standard for you!

It’s time to support a winner – I am endorsing Mike Koolidge for the 14th Congressional District!
