SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION

The Board of Education of Community Unit School District #100, Boone, McHenry, DeKalb Counties, Illinois met in a special meeting March 5, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. at the Belvidere High School Forum Room, located at 1500 East Avenue, Belvidere, Illinois, which is within the boundaries of said District.

A. Opening Items

1. Call to Order:

The President called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.

Member Diestelmeier was appointed Secretary Pro Tem.

2. Roll Call:

Members present were Mr. Diestelmeir, Mr. Herrera, Mr. Hoemke, Mr. Pigee, and Mrs. Yunk.

Members absent were Mrs. Houk and Mr. Mueller.

B. Superintendent’s Comments

Dr. Schug presented the community with a School District Update on our Strategic Plan 2023-2028 to include the following:

• Academic Achievement and Growth

• Learning Environment

• Family and Community Partnerships

• Premier Workforce

• Operational Resources

C. Presentations

Dr. Schug presented a Facilities Master Plan, Past Present, Future Summary, presentation, followed by an Open Forum discussion where the public was able to make comments and ask questions.

D. Hearing of Visitors

President Herrera opened the floor to community members to address the board on additional questions, concerns, and comments regarding District 100. The following individuals wished to address the board:

• Mike Speek, regarding keeping Perry Elementary School open and repairs

• Dan Snow, regarding keeping Perry Elementary School open

• Rory Peterson, regarding trust with Perry Elementary School decisions over last two years Hearing no one wished to address the board, President Herrera closed the Hearing the Visitors.

E. Adjournment

Having no further business to conduct, Member Hoemke made a motion and Member Yunk seconded the motion to adjourn. The President called the question, and the motion passed on a voice vote.

The meeting adjourned at 6:31 p.m.
