City of Sandwich Finance Committee met Feb. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Alderwoman Erickson called the meeting to order at 6:30p.m.

Roll Call: Present – Alderwoman Inman, Alderman Kreinbrink, Alderman Danko, Alderwoman Erickson and Alderman Robinson

Also Present: City Administrator Penman and EMA Director Eberle

Review of Semi-Monthly Bills:

Tires on the Endloader and a $33,000 repair on it. It was cheaper to do a new axle than to repair the old one. We have put tires on it a couple times already. Can we try to get a better tire so we are not replacing the tires so often? Can we also make sure maintenance is being done that should be.

Brad Manning Ford – Why did we go there for the squad car and not who we normally use in town? Will look into that.

Tollway Charges – Do we know who these charges are for and why – can we make sure everyone has a working IPASS. This is billed quarterly. Is it also just the IPASS charge or for missed tolls and having to pay extras?

Lumber – wondering why so much lumber was bought – shelving and benches

Pew Pew Guru – What was the biohazard cleaning for $300? It was put out to bid that way and that is the charge for any biohazard clean up.

EEI- Why is there a retainer charge four times? That is how it is split up between the different departments. Its just the retainer for one month. We were also charged again for work on the EV Charging station of $729.

Leaf Disposal – Why were these not disposed of at no charge like we did for the leaf program? None of the places that were taking them for free needed them.

Sidewalk Salt – We could have bought this a lot cheaper if we would have gone to another store than using Ace Hardware in Sandwich. Can we see if they will price match or put a

policy that if something is within a certain threshold of the price between the two then we go the route with the most cost savings.

Photography for $385 what was that for – it was for a police department group photo
