DeKalb County Board of Review met Nov. 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Those in attendance: Dan Cribben, Chairman; John Linderoth and Brian Rosenow, Members; Bridget Nodurft, Board Clerk CCAO; Robin Chester, Chief Deputy.

I. Call to Order: Chairman called meeting to order at 9:00am

II. Roll Call: Chairman asked the record to show all members present.

Ill. Review Agenda for Approval / Amendment: John moved to approve the agenda as submitted. Brian seconded the motion. All in favor, so moved.

IV. Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes: John moved to approve the amended minutes as submitted as to correct errors on original. Brian seconded the motion. All in favor, so moved.

V. Public Comments: None

VI. Work Load

a) Review to Approve / Deny Disabled Person Exemptions (HEPD): ): After Board review, motion by John and seconded by Brian to approve 12-Renewal HEPD applications. All in favor, so moved. See attached list.

b) Review to Approve / Deny Disabled Veteran Exemptions (SHEVD): After Board review, motion by John and seconded by Brian to approve 7-New, 13-Renewal and 1- Second Review SHEVD applications. All in favor, so moved. See attached list.

c) Review to Approve/ Deny Senior Exemptions (HE): After Board review, motion by John and seconded by Brian to approve 12-New applications. All in favor, so moved. See attached list.

d) Review to Approve / Deny Certificate of Errors (CofE): After Board review, motion by John seconded by Brian to approve 15-2024 CofE’s numbered 362-376. All in favor, so moved

e) Review to Approve / Deny Assessor Changes: After Board review, motion by John, seconded by Brian to approve 127 Assessor Changes. All in favor, so moved. Amended to 126 due to removal of duplicate from Sycamore Township..

f) Review to Approve / Deny Mapping changes: After Board review, motion by John, seconded by Brian to approve a total of 52 mapping changes, 27-September and 25- October. All in favor, so moved. Amended to total of 49 due to removal of 3 October changes making total for October 22.

g) Review to Approve/Deny Pollution Control: After Board of review, motion by John, seconded by Brian to concur with the change for parcel 17-11-400-008. All in favor, so moved.

h) Review for Recommendation to IDOR for Non-Homestead Exemptions: Board members welcomed Emily Moore from Foster & Buick Law Group and Alex Nerad, Executive Director of the Egyptian Theatre. Mr Nerad gave brief history of the theatre and updated the board of its plan for the parcel 08-23-158-042. Brian moved for the approval of a full year exemption on both parcels before the Board. John seconded. All in favor, so moved. See attached list.

i) Review, Prepare and Make a Recommendation for PTAB Appeals: Board was briefed on the current status of the 2023 I 2024 PTAB appeals currently pending. Informing the Board of hearings scheduled for December 11 th .

VII. Other Business: Board discussed the upcoming Appeal Hearings. To date we have received a total of 94 Appeals. Appeal Hearings will begin December 2nd and 3rd ,continuing through the month of December and beginning of January. Board will be updated as the hearings are scheduled and agendas are posted.

VIII. Adjournment: Motion by John, seconded by Brian to adjourn the meeting. All in favor, so moved. Meeting was adjourned at 11 :20am.
