The village of Hinckley recently announced an opening on its planning commission, inviting interested village residents to apply.
The commission is comprised of a chair and four commissioners. Currently, it has three commissioners and one open position. It meets bimonthly, as needed.
Generally, the planning commission reviews development agreements, zoning issues and conducts public hearings on variances. The commissioner also considers and advises the village president and board of trustees on sign and zoning ordinances, and investigates items of interest to the village, such as a TIF district.
