The American Conservative Union Foundation (ACUF) has honored U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL) with the 2016 Award for Conservative Achievement, which recognizes the lifetime and annual voting record of conservative legislators.
“Throughout my work in Congress I have been steadfast in my conservative values and principles, and I have found them to be effective guideposts when it comes to finding solutions that actually work for my constituents,” Hultgren said, according to a press release. “I am deeply honored to accept this award from the American Conservative Union Foundation and will continue to stand up for the principles that have made our country the envy of the world.”
The ACUF scores lawmakers’ voting records based on their compliance with the foundation’s values. Hultgren achieved a score of 88 percent in 2016, in line with his lifetime average of 85.25 percent.
