U.S. Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL) recently hosted a reception for a record 13 students from his district who will be attending U.S. military academies, according to a press release.
“These students embody the best of the 14th (Congressional) District and will represent our communities well as they begin their careers at these distinguished institutions,” Hultgren said in the release. “Their dedication to service is commendable, and I anticipate this record-setting class of cadets will go far in their studies and leadership.”
Steven Strange of Oswego, Anthony Castino of Naperville, Austen Ferbet of Cary, Jon Rhattigan of Naperville, James McCullough of Gurnee and Michael Burke of St. Charles will be attending West Point; Peter Keller of Batavia, Leonard Petersen of Lakewood and Matthew Byrnes of Crystal Lake will be at the Air Force Academy; and Matthew Vidican and Jessica Melone, both of St. Charles, will attend the Air Force Academy Prep School.
Alina Michaels of Yorkville is attending the Naval Academy, and Logan Nelson of Sycamore will attend the Merchant Marine Academy.
