On the same day he was sworn in as the new state representative from DeKalb County, Jeff Keicher took time to thank all those who have aided him in his journey.

Keicher is set to serve out the remaining term of Rep. Bob Pritchard (R-Hinckley), who resigned from office last month to take an appointment on another board. The ceremony, which was attended by many state and local elected officials, was held at Dayton Farms in Sycamore.

Keicher is slated to hold office until January. Until then, he is busy campaigning for a full term in November’s general election against Democrat Paul Stoddard for the 70th district seat.

Keicher also recently posted separate photographs of himself on Facebook mingling with fellow GOP candidates Sen. Don DeWitte (R-St. Charles) and Dan Ugaste.

“During the process of running for state representative you are blessed to meet folks from all walks of life,” Keicher wrote on the post. “People share their worries, victories and ideas. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know state representative candidate Dan Ugaste and ran into him today at Kane County Fair as I was visiting with a concerned voter.”

A small business owner, Keicher has made job creation, tax reform and outmigration the central themes of his campaign.
