Rep. Jeff Keicher (D-Sycamore) recently volunteered at the DeKalb Senior Services Center as it received donated food from the Northern Illinois Food Bank.

“Neighbors coming together to help neighbors in need is part of what makes our community such a great place to live,” Keicher posted on Facebook.

A State Farm Insurance agent in Sycamore since 2006, Keicher is running on a pro-job growth platform that emphasizes education and infrastructure, his website states.

Keicher also praised nearby Rochelle for its use of rail transportation to grow its economy.

“I see and talk with job creators who want to be here (in Illinois),” he said. “It’s things like the forward looking [sic] plans Rochelle put in place many years ago that continue to bear fruit and ideas that benefit us all. Kudos to our neighbors to the west.”

Keicher was appointed to the 70th District House seat in July after Rep. Bob Pritchard (R-Hinckley) retired. He faces Democrat Paul Stoddard and Libertarian John Eldon Mathey in November’s general election.

The 70th District covers parts of Boone, DeKalb and Kane counties.
