Regional Office of Education #16 Board of Review met Dec. 4.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
Those in attendance: John Guio, Bob Merriman and Dan Gribben, Members; and Michelle Christensen, Interim Clerk.
I. Call to order: Meeting called to order at 9: 14 am.
II. Roll call: All present. Dan Gribben left meeting early at 11 :07 am.
Ill. Approval of minutes from last meeting: Bob made a motion to approve Dec 3, 2019 meeting minutes. Dan seconds the motion. All in favor, motion passed.
IV. Public Comments: None
V. Work Load:
a. Review of Disabled Person Exemptions: Reviewed and approved 4 new applications for the disabled person exemption.
b. Review of Disabled Veteran Exemptions: Reviewed and approved 4 new and 2 renewal applications for the disabled veteran exemption.
c. Review of Senior Exemptions: Reviewed and approved 26 new senior exemption applications.
d. Review of Non-Homestead Exemptions: None
e. Review of PTAB Appeals: None
f. Review of Assessor Changes: Board reviewed 7 stipulations, approving 5, asked for hearing for 1, and tabled 1 as missing the assessor change. Board reviewed 100 Assessor Changes approving 75, asked for hearing for 4, tabled 1 for intervenor deadline and 19 for assessor evidence, and 1 had filed an appeal prior to change submission.
VI. Other Business: Board reviewed and approved 1 returning veteran exemption. Board discussed dates and time for future meetings and will determine dates for alternate board members in January.
VII. Adjournment: Bob moved to adjourn; John seconded. All in favor, so moved. Meeting adjourned at 12: 19 pm
