Somonauk Community Unit School District No. 432 Board of Education met Jan. 14.

The Building/Grounds and Finance Committee Meeting of the Board of Education, Somonauk Community Unit School District No. 432, was held in the Somonauk High School Legacy Room at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14th, 2020. The following members were present: Nick Deacon, Scott Horsch, and Norm Johnson. Jay Streicher, Superintendent, was also present. Tom Nielsen arrived at 4:07 p.m.
The CTS Group presented on preliminary infrastructure and energy assessments. CTS shared the same presentation that they shared at the December Board meeting about performance contracting and energy savings.
They showed other projects that they have worked on along with the energy savings they helped accomplish. They also looked at the pros and cons of different options such as lighting HVAC, temperature control panels, etc.
They said they would provide a breakdown of estimated costs for the variety of projects at all three of our buildings.
The committee then discussed financing options for these kinds of updates.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:19 p.m. On a voice vote, all members present voted “Aye”. Motion carried.
