Cortland Fire Protection Department responded to 57 calls in 2018 - 6.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Cortland included 32 fires - 20 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 10 other fires.

The department also received 25 false calls, including three malicious calls and 22 other false calls.

The Cortland Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $903,475 in 2018.
