Genoa-Kingston Community Unit School District #424 Board of Education met Sept. 8.

Call to Order

Board President, Kristen Andrews called the Genoa-Kingston CUSD #424 Special Board of Education Meeting to order at 5:02 pm.

Roll Call: Kristin Brynteson, Julie Ratliff, Jake Wesner, Kristen Andrews

Physically Present: Brynteson, Ratliff, Wesner, Andrews

Virtually Present: None

Absent: David Cleveland, Mary Hintzsche

Pledge of Allegiance

Superintendent O’Daniell led guests and members of the Board of Education in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mission Statement

Dr. Kristin Brynteson read the Mission Statement "Preparing students to excel and contribute to their community."

Public hearings, petitions, questions, and comments from guests and visitors

There were no public hearings, petitions, questions and/or comments from guests and visitors.

Closed session for the selection of a person to fill a public office, as defined in the Open Meetings Act, including a vacancy in a public office, when the public body is given power to appoint under law or ordinance or the discipline, performance or removal of the occupant of a public office, when the public body is given power to remove the occupant under law or ordinance in compliance with 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(3)

A motion was made by Mrs. Ratliff, and seconded by Dr. Brynteson, to convene to closed session for the selection of a person to fill a public office, as defined in the Open Meetings Act, including a vacancy in a public office, when the public body is given power to appoint under law or ordinance or the discipline, performance or removal of the occupant of a public office, when the public body is given power to remove the occupant under law or ordinance in compliance with 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(3 at 5:05 pm.

The Board of Education reconvened to open session at 6:31 pm.

A motion was made by Mr. Wesner, and seconded by Dr. Brynteson, to adjourn the Special Board of Education Meeting at 6:32 pm.
