While the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting small businesses everywhere, Illinois is offering big relief to businesses in the state through the Business Interruption Grant (BIG) program.
Small businesses in DeKalb County received $713,000 from the BIG program and are likely to receive more, the Daily Chronicle reported. The funds from the program can help offset any losses small businesses have experienced throughout the pandemic.
The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity said that Sycamore Parkway Restaurant and Country Inn Hotel has received the largest grants from the program, with a total of $150,000 for each grant.
Hink's Bar & Grille in Sycamore also received a large grant of $85,000 from the program, and Fatty's Pub & Grille in DeKalb was awarded a grant of $80,000, the Daily Chronicle reported.
The program gives priority to applicants that didn't receive funds from the PPP program or small businesses that haven't received funds from other programs or loans.
