DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board Met April 21.

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met virtually in regular session through a cloud-based, peer-to-peer software platform called Zoom at 7:45 p.m. President Frieders called the meeting to order and the Secretary called the roll. Those Commissioners virtually present were Mrs. Karen Cribben, Mr. Bill Cummings, Mr. Patrick Deutsch, Mrs. Laurie Emmer, Mr. Steve Faivre, Mr. Tim Hughes, Ms. Kiara Jones, Mrs. Kathy Lampkins, Ms. Dianne Leifheit, Ms. Maureen Little, Mr. Jim Luebke, Ms. Terri Mann-Lamb, Mr. Neill Mohammad, Mr. Jerry Osland, Mr. Roy Plote, Mr. Craig Roman, Ms. Linda Slabon, Mr. Larry West, Vice-President Suzanne Willis, Mr. Tim Bagby, Mr. Scott Campbell, Ms. Mary Cozad, Ms. Rukisha Crawford, and President John Frieders. A quorum was established with all twenty-four Commissioners present.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Mrs. Lampkins moved to approve the agenda as presented and Mr. Bagby seconded the motion. Roll Call Vote

President Frieders called for a roll call vote to approve the agenda as presented. Those Commissioners voting yea were Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mr. Hughes, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann Lamb, Mr. Mohammad, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Ms. Slabon, Mr. West, Vice President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, and President Frieders. All Commissioners voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Mr. Deutsch moved to approve the minutes of the March 17, 2021 Forest Preserve District Commissioners Meeting. Ms. Mann-Lamb seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

President Frieders asked for a roll call vote on the approval of the minutes. Those Commissioners voting yea were Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mr. Hughes, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann Lamb, Mr. Mohammad, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Ms. Slabon, Mr. West, Vice President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, and President Frieders. All Commissioners voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS 

Claims – April 2021

Motion

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amounts of $125,821.99. Mrs. Lampkins seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

President Frieders called for a roll call vote on the approval of the April Claims. Those Commissioners voting yea were Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mr. Hughes, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann Lamb, Mr. Mohammad, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Ms. Slabon, Mr. West, Vice President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, and President Frieders. All Commissioners voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

Mr. Roman thanked the Sycamore Lions Club for their 20 years of volunteering to cleaning up the Great Western Trail.

He additionally thanked the Kishwaukee Kiwanis for their many years of volunteering to clean up the section of the DeKalb / Sycamore Trail behind Walmart and by the County’s Highway Department. Their efforts help keep the trails clean for all of the citizens of DeKalb County and he and the Forest Preserve District are very thankful for both clubs’ dedication and volunteerism.

Mr. Osland moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. Mr. Hughes seconded the motion.

President Frieders called for a roll call vote on the adjournment. Those Commissioners voting yea were Mrs. Cribben, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mr. Hughes, Ms. Jones, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr. Mohammad, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Ms. Slabon, Mr. West, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, and President Frieders. Motion carried unanimously.
