DeKalb County Nursing Home Foundation met Oct. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Present: Judy Royer, Mary Pritchard, Carole Evans, Chuck Walters, Bob Higdon, Toni Krull Also present: Denise Berkshire, Maggie Niemi (new County Home director)

The meeting was called to order at 12, noon.

Minutes: Mary Pritchard moved to approve the 6/17/21 minutes. Chuck Walters seconded. The motion passed.

Treasurer’s report: As of 10/20/21 the balances were: Resource Bank Investment fund $601,308.19; DCCF Endowment Fund $159,618.15; Resource Bank checking account $13,494.83. Mary Pritchard moved to accept the report. Toni Krull seconded. The motion carried.

Chuck Walters moved to approve the purchase of tables and chairs for the Memory Care Unit large and small dining rooms for a total of $25,524. Mary Pritchard seconded. The motion carried.

Payment of claims: $10 refund to Judy Royer for the Secretary of State annual filing.

New business:

The Board decided not to send the mass fall solicitation mailing, but to write to those individuals who donated in the last three years including Give DeKalb. The letter will request donors to share their email and cell phone number. Letters will be stamped. Carol Evans will check for a possible Post Office credit.

Maggie Niemi and Denise Berkshire will check to see if our website can have a “donate” button.

Board members Carol Evans, Bob Higdon, and Judy Royer ‐ whose terms expire in 2021 ‐ have agreed to continue for another term.

The proposed 2022 slate of officers is:

President: Judy Royer

Vice President: Carol Evans

Treasurer: Bob Higdon

Secretary: Toni (Maria) Krull

Bob Higdon moved to adjourn. Chuck Walters seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 12:35 pm.
