DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met Jan. 19.

Here are the minutes provided by the commissioners:

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center’s Gathertorium at 7:26 p.m. President Frieders called the meeting to order and the Secretary called the roll. Those Commissioners present were Ms. Dianne Leifheit, Mr. Jim Luebke, Mr. Jerry Osland, Mr. Roy Plote, Mr. Craig Roman, Mr. Ellingsworth Webb, Vice-President Suzanne Willis, Mr. Tim Bagby, Mr. Scott Campbell, Ms. Mary Cozad, Ms. Rukisha Crawford, Mr. Patrick Deutsch, Mr. Steve Faivre, and President John Frieders. Those absent were Ms. Maureen Little, Ms. Terri Mann-Lamb, Mr. Larry West, Mrs. Karen Cribben, Mr. Bill Cummings, Mrs. Laurie Emmer, Mr. Tim Hughes, Ms. Kiara Jones, and Mrs. Kathy Lampkins. A quorum was established with fourteen Commissioners present, nine absent, and one vacancy.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Ms. Cozad moved to approve the agenda as presented and Mr. Faivre seconded the motion. Voice Vote

President Frieders called for a voice vote to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Mr. Plote moved to approve the minutes of the December 8, 2021 meeting. Mr. Bagby seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Frieders asked for a voice vote on the approval of minutes. All Commissioners present voted yea. Motion carried unanimously.

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Claims – December 2021

Motion

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for last month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount of $141,502.48. Mr. Webb seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

Chairman Frieders asked for a roll call vote on the approval of the December 2021 Claims. Those Commissioners voted yea were Ms. Leifheit, Mr. Luebke, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Mr. Webb, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, Mr. Deutsch, Mr. Faivre, and President Frieders. The motion carried unanimously.

Motion

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount of $211,938.42. Mr. Deutsch seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

Chairman Frieders asked for a roll call vote on the approval of the January 2022 Claims. Those Commissioners voted yea were Ms. Leifheit, Mr. Luebke, Mr. Osland, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Mr. Webb, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, Mr. Deutsch, Mr. Faivre, and President Frieders. All Commissioners present voted yea. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

None.

ADJOURNMENT

Motion

Mr. Plote moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 p.m. and Mr. Campbell seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Frieders called for a voice vote on the adjournment. Motion carried unanimously.
