DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board met March 16.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners met in regular session at the Legislative Center’s Gathertorium, at 8:06 p.m. President Frieders called the meeting to order and the Secretary called the roll. Those Commissioners present were Mr. Jim Luebke, Ms. Terri Mann-Lamb, Mr. Jerry Osland, Ms. Michelle Pickett, Mr. Roy Plote, Mr. Craig Roman, Mr. Ellingsworth Webb, Mr. Larry West, Vice-President Suzanne Willis, Mr. Tim Bagby, Mr. Scott Campbell, Ms. Mary Cozad, Mr. Bill Cummings, Mr. Patrick Deutsch, Mrs. Laurie Emmer, Mr. Steve Faivre, Mrs. Kathy Lampkins, Ms. Dianne Leifheit, Ms. Maureen Little, and President John Frieders. Those absent were Mrs. Karen Cribben and Ms. Kiara Jones. There was a quorum with twenty-one Commissioners present, two absent, and one vacancy.

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

Motion

Mr. Faivre moved to approve the agenda as presented and Ms. Little seconded the motion. Voice Vote

President Frieders called for a voice vote to approve the agenda as presented. The motion carried unanimously.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Motion

Mrs. Emmer moved to approve the minutes of the February 16, 2022 meeting. Ms. Cozad seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Frieders asked for a voice vote on the approval of minutes. All Commissioners present voted aye. Motion carried unanimously.

There were no public comments.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Resolution FP-R2022-01: A Resolution Approving the Acquisition of Property in Kingston  Township for the Genoa to Kingston Trail (G2K Trail)

Motion

Mr. Roman moved that the DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Commissioners hereby approve the acquisition of approximately 1.11 acres (approximately 2,700 ft. long x 18 ft. wide), and part of parcels 02-23-377-001, 02-23-377-002, 02-23-376-006, and 02-26-100-004, described on Exhibit A attached hereto, of trail corridor in the total around of $16,650.00, in Kingston Township. Mr. Webb seconded the motion as presented.

Roll Call Vote

President Frieders called for a roll call vote on the motion as presented. Those Commissioners voting aye were Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr. Osland, Ms. Pickett, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Mr. Webb, Mr. West, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, and President Frieders. All Commissioners present voted aye and none were opposed. The motion carried unanimously.

Claims – March 2022

Motion

Mr. Roman moved to approve the payment of claims for this month, and the off-cycle claims paid during the previous month, including all claims for travel, meals, and lodging, in the amount of $173,661.90. Mr. Bagby seconded the motion.

Roll Call Vote

President Frieders asked for a roll call vote on the motion to approve and payment the District’s March 2022 Claims. Those Commissioners voted aye were Mr. Luebke, Ms. Mann-Lamb, Mr. Osland, Ms. Pickett, Mr. Plote, Mr. Roman, Mr. Webb, Mr. West, Vice-President Willis, Mr. Bagby, Mr. Campbell, Ms. Cozad, Ms. Crawford, Mr. Cummings, Mr. Deutsch, Mrs. Emmer, Mr. Faivre, Mrs. Lampkins, Ms. Leifheit, Ms. Little, and President Frieders. The motion carried unanimously.

OLD BUSINESS / NEW BUSINESS

ADJOURNMENT 

Motion

 Mr. Osland moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:17 p.m. and Mr. Deustch seconded the motion.

Voice Vote

President Frieders called for a voice vote on the adjournment. Motion carried unanimously.
