State Rep. Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) recently announced his traveling office hours.
Constituents who stop by during traveling office hours will be able to meet with a member of Rep. Keicher's staff, according to a news release from his office. The staff members will collect information and deliver it to Keicher for a personal review and follow-up.
"Our first traveling office hours of the summer will be next Thursday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Cortland," Keicher said in a Facebook post. "Please feel welcome to stop by to share any questions or feedback on state issues or ideas for legislation."
Traveling office hours will be hosted by Keicher's staff on Thursdays in June: on Thursday, June 16, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cortland Town Hall, 59 S. Somonauk Rd., Cortland, IL 60112; on Thursday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Big Rock Library, 48W447 Hinckley Rd., Big Rock, IL 60511; and on Thursday, June 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Maple Park Civic Center, 302 Willow St., Maple Park, IL 60151.
Additional dates will be announced on June 30 for events in Burlington, Genoa, and Hinckley, the news release noted.
Keicher spoke out on the dangers of fentanyl in the community in recent months, as previously reported by Dekalb Times.
"Fentanyl is some awful stuff and it’s turning up all over,” Keicher said on Facebook. "We lose people every year who unknowingly consumed a dangerous dose, like my cousin in 2016. I've worked with my peer, Rep. [La Shawn] Ford (D-Chicago) on a few measures we hope will work to save lives."
