DeKalb County Mental Health Board Executive Committee met Sept. 6.
Here are the minutes provided by the committee:
Committee Members Present: Jane Smith, Marilyn Stromborg, Meghan Cook Committee Members Not Present:
Staff Present: Deanna Cada, Heaven Allen

1. Call to Order
Ms. Cook called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
2. Agenda
Dr. Stromborg moved to approve the agenda, seconded by Ms. Cook. The motion passed unanimously.
3. Approval of Minutes
Ms. Cook moved to approve the minutes of the 06/07/22 meeting, seconded by Dr. Stromborg. The motion passed unanimously.
4. Office Report
Ms. Cada reported that “This is My Brave” has a full cast with 10 individuals. They had a successful first cast party.
Ms. Cada announced that ACMHAI will be having their 50th Anniversary reception in Chicago which is be in December at the Embassy in River North. Ms. Cada informed the committee that she reached out the Jerry Lane (Previous CMHB Director). He will be in attendance.
Ms. Cada was invited to give a “non-profit talk”
5. Public Comment
There was no public comment.
6. Old Business
A. Strategic Planning: Next Steps – Ms. Cada announced that we met with the Center for Governmental studies via Zoom
B. Angst Documentary: Date & Preparation – Screening is scheduled for Tuesday November 15th at the Egyptian Theatre in the evening 6:30-8:30p. This program will be beneficial with School districts. Ms. Cada is hoping to present this to teacher at their institute day.
C. CEBiB Survey results & Next Steps- The survey closed on September 9, 2022. Dr. Jones, Mr. Cook and Ms. Cada will do an RFP to find someone to help with the survey analysis.
7. New Business
A. Thriveworks Introduction – Ms. Cada discussed implementing Thriveworks in the county. Currently, the city of Joliet is currently working with them.
B. Agency Presentation Schedule – Ms. Cada shared that it has been a few years since we have had the Agency come and present to us what they are currently working on. Ms. Cada asked the committee if that was something that they wanted to restart?
8. One Year/Three Year Plan update –
One Year plan – Ms. Cada reported that they will be holding a stakeholder meeting on Sept. 27th
9. Date of Next Executive Committee Meeting: 10/04/22 starting at 6:00 pm
10. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 6:41 p.m.
