DeKalb County Forest Preserve District Board met May 17.

Any member of the public may address the Forest Preserve District Board for up to 3 minutes on any topic of their choosing. There will be no yielding of time to other members of the public and agenda time for public comments is limited to 30 minutes in total.

6. Resolutions

a. Resolution FP-R2023-004—Award Resolution for the 2023 Afton Maintenance and Natural Resource Management Building Project to Zenz Buildings, Inc of DeKalb, Illinois, in an amount not to exceed $128,800.

Resolution FP-R2023-004 awards the project for construction of a 30’ x 40’ x 10’ Steel Commercial Building at the Afton Forest Preserve. The building is to be used for additional office space, storage, and indoor bathrooms. Once the project has been awarded, the project is expected to be completed by the end of FY2023. Bids will be opened by the Forest Preserve District on Thursday April 27th, at 10:00am in the Legislative Center’s Freedom Room. The lowest bid meeting specifications will be forwarded to the Committee for preliminary approval.

Committee Action: The Forest Preserve Operations Committee considered Resolution FP R2023-004 on April 27th and forwarded the Resolution to the Forest Preserve District Board with a favorable recommendation by a vote of seven in favor and none opposed.

b. Resolution FP-R2023-005—A Resolution Approving Year-End Amendments to the FY2022 Budget.

The DeKalb County Forest Preserve Superintendent and the County Comptroller have reviewed the 2022 Fiscal year Budget and identified appropriations, transfers and amendments to balance the FY2021 Budget. It was determined that these appropriations, transfers and amendments are necessary for the fiscal management and operation of the Forest Preserve District.

Committee Action: The Forest Preserve Operations Committee considered Resolution FP R2023-005 on April 27th and forwarded the Resolution to the Forest Preserve District Board with a favorable recommendation by a vote of seven in favor and none opposed.

c. Resolution FP-R2023-006—A Resolution Approving the Payment of Forest Preserve Claims for May 2023, and Off-Cycle Claims Paid During the Previous Month, Including All Claims for Travel, Meals, and Lodging, in the amount of $129,164.90.

7. Reports of Forest Preserve Officials: Move to accept and place on file the following Reports of Forest Preserve Officials.
