State Representative Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) and State Senator Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) are teaming up with the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office to organize an ICash event on May 6th in Hampshire. The event will take place at the Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library District from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
According to Rep. Keicher, "Area residents interested in checking if they have unclaimed assets are encouraged to attend the event." The ICash program, administered by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, holds unclaimed property until they are claimed by rightful owners.
The State Treasurer’s website outlines the various types of unclaimed property that may be included, such as "checking and savings accounts, uncashed wage and payroll checks, insurance payments, utility deposits, and more." However, it is important to note that "unclaimed property does not include real estate or vehicles."
For those seeking further information or with any questions, individuals are advised to contact Sen. Syverson’s office at 815-987-7555 or Rep. Keicher’s office at 815-748-3494. Rep. Keicher represents the 70th District, encompassing parts of DeKalb, Kane, and McHenry Counties.
