a. Resolution R2024-080—A Resolution Authorizing the Procurement of Workers’ Compensation and General Liability Insurance.
The DeKalb County Board has had a longstanding goal of obtaining workers’ compensation and general liability insurance coverage for the County. Transitioning from the County’s current self-insured model to third-party coverage has proved challenging due to a lack of actuarial data. Staff has worked with AssuredPartners and Gallagher Risk Management Services, two insurance brokerage firms, to obtain market quotes on behalf of the County.
AssuredPartners has negotiated terms and options for workers compensation and general liability coverage with Illinois Counties Risk Management Trust (ICRMT). At the March 6th Finance & Administration Committee meeting, Mitch Backes of AssuredPartners provided an overview of the terms and options. Due to the timing of receipt of the second quote, ICRMT has resubmitted a proposal.
Gallagher has negotiated terms and options for workers compensation and general liability coverage with Counties of Illinois Risk Management Agency (CIRMA).
The Committee is being asked to make a recommendation to the County Board as to which proposal to move forward with.
b. Resolution R2024-081—A Resolution Approving the Payment of County Claims for June 2024, and Off-Cycle Claims Paid During the Previous Month, Including All Claims for Travel, Meals, and Lodging.
