Area residents can participate in a free Community Shred Event on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Jewel-Osco parking lot across from Sun City, located at 13200 Village Green Drive in Huntley. This event is aimed at helping individuals dispose of documents and papers safely and confidentially.
State Rep. Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore), State Rep. Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford), and State Sen. Dave Syverson (R-Cherry Valley) are hosting the event, which will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
"This event is for residential document shredding only," organizers specified, noting that there is a limit of three boxes per resident and that no electronics will be accepted.
