DeKalb County Executive Committee met Oct. 9.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

a. Minutes from September 11, 2024 Regular Meeting

4. Public Comments

Any member of the public may address the Committee for up to 3 minutes on any topic of their choosing. There will be no yielding of time to other members of the public and agenda time for public comments is limited to 30 minutes in total.

5. Resolutions

a. Resolution R2024-112—A Resolution Approving a Letter of Support for the Comcast’s Broadband Equity Access Deployment (BEAD) Grant Application.

Comcast has announced their intention to apply for the Broadband Equity Access Deployment (BEAD) Grant. This grant through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity would allow Comcast to provide broadband to unserved and underserved areas of DeKalb County. Comcast have requested the County’s endorsement of their application in the form of a letter of support.

b. Resolution R2024-113—A Resolution Approving a Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreement for the DeKalb County Shopping Center with Sycamore Center DeKalb, LLC and Skechers USA Retail, LLC.

DeKalb County Government owns and leases a property located on Sycamore Road in DeKalb, Illinois. The tenant of the property (Sycamore Center DeKalb, LLC) has improved the property with a multi-tenant retail development, commonly known as the DeKalb County Shopping Center. When the tenant extends a lease agreement, the County must consent to said lease extension in the form of a Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreement. Resolution R2024-113 approves a Non-Disturbance and Attornment Agreement for the DeKalb County Shopping Center with Sycamore Center DeKalb, LLC and Skechers USA Retail, LLC.

• Housing Authority of DeKalb County: Mark Cordes re-appointed for a five-year term beginning November 1, 2024 and expiring October 31, 2029.

• County Board Member – District 1: John Lyon appointed immediately to fill the unexpired term of Maureen Little until November 30, 2024.

County Board & Forest Preserve Committees:

• John Lyon appointed immediately to the County Board’s Highway Committee and Planning, Zoning and Development Committee until November 30, 2024.

• Joseph Marcinkowski appointed immediately to the Forest Preserve District’s Operation’s Committee until November 30, 2024
