a. Approval of County Facility Control System Upgrades by Alpha Controls.
In February of 2024, the County’s Facilities & Technology Committee heard a presentation from Alpha Controls regarding upgrades to the control systems for the County Facilities. Alpha Controls performed an Energy Audit and put together a proposal for energy optimization for review by the County Board. The proposal included a number of deferred and upcoming maintenance projects. Due to the prohibitive cost estimate of the project ($1,405,938), the County Board chose not to move forward with the proposal.
Upgrading the controller units for County facilities was one of the deferred maintenance items that was considered under the proposal. At this time, the Facilities Management Office (FMO) is unable to procure replacement parts for the current control systems. FMO has worked with Alpha Controls, a sole source provider, to obtain the following proposals for new controller equipment for the systems:
Legislative Center $9,529
Community Outreach Building $7,404
Total Project Cost $16,933
If approved, the installation work would be completed in house to save additional cost. Staff is recommending approval.
b. Approval of Payment of Claims for January 2025 in the amount of $1,176.14.
6. Old Business
a. Courthouse Expansion Project Update
7. New Business
