City of Sandwich Finance Committee met Jan. 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairwoman Johnson called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Roll call was taken:

Present: Alderwoman Rebecca Johnson, Alderwoman Karsta Erickson City Administrator Geoff Penman

Review of Semi-Monthly Bills

Alderwoman Erickson questioned milage for Kevin Hernandez. Ideal Fence repair reviewed. Foster Buick invoice for minutes, agendas, FOIAS and OMA. Invoice for police new badges questioned. Alderwoman Johnson discussed IDOT invoice and the amount coming from Motor fuel tax / re-build Illinois grant.

Unfinished Business:

A. Discussion of Procurement policy

Draft - Part one and two. Geoff will be updating part two and e-mailing.

B. Audit update

Draft is moving forward

New Business:

A. Approval of minutes for January 6th Motion by Alderwoman Erickson, seconded by Alderwoman Johnson. Passed.

B. Discussion of budget schedule.

Budget meeting coming. Geoff and Wes met with department heads and have started the process of writing out narratives.

Audience Comments: Sandra Kohler commented on Attorney fees, Attorney doing FOIAS Kevin Hernandez's explanation for payment of miles.

Becky Nelson commented on our financial obligation $19,000 in legal fees. Attorney oversight on agendas and modifications to agendas.

Finance Meeting Motion to send monthly bills to the city council for payment: Motion made by Alderwoman Erickson, seconded by Alderwoman Johnson. Motion passed with a voice vote.

Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Committee, motion made by Alderwoman Erickson and seconded by Alderwoman Johnson to adjourn at 6:53 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
