DeKalb County Public Building Commission met April 1.

Any member of the public may address the Commission for up to 3 minutes on any topic of their choosing. There will be no yielding of time to other members of the public and agenda time for public comments is limited to 30 minutes in total.
5. Action Items
a. Approval of Health Department and Multi-Purpose Room Shingled Roof Project.
The Facilities Management Office held a bid opening on March 26th for the reroofing of the shingled portion of Health Department and Multi-Purpose Room roofs. Five bids were received. The lowest responsible bid was received from All American Exterior Solutions in the amount of $159,900. The budget for the project is $290,000.
b. Approval of Health Department and Multi-Purpose Room Gutter & Downspout Project.
As part of the solicitation of bids for the Health Department and Multi-Purpose Room Shingled Roof Project, Bidders were asked to provide pricing for replacement of Gutters & Downspouts. Out of the five bids were received, he lowest responsible bid was received from Alliance Building Solutions in the amount of $24,145.
c. Approval of Health Department and Multi-Purpose Room Rubber Roof Project.
The Facilities Management Office will hold a bid opening on March 26th for the reroofing of the rubber portion of Health Department and Multi-Purpose Room roofs. The budget for the project is $195,000.
d. Approval of Jail Boiler Repair/Replacement Project.
At this time Boiler #3 at the jail is currently down due to heat exchanger malfunction. The Facilities Management Office has solicited a proposal from PremiStar, a sole source provider.
e. Approval of Jail Flue Pipe Extension Project
The Facilities Management Office solicited a proposal from PremiStar HVAC, Plumbing and Building Controls in the amount of $26,222.
f. Approval of Payment of Claims for March 2025 in the Amount of $45,000.00.

a. Dispatch Center Liebert System Replacement
At this time, the existing Liebert system that controls the climate in the Dispatch Center is inoperable. Full replacement of the unit was necessitated due to the age of the unit and the inability to procure replacement parts. Due to the critical nature of the County’s Dispatch service operations, the Interim County Administrator approved the emergency procurement of a replacement Liebert System from PremiStar in the amount of $89,003.
