Sycamore Republican Jeff Keicher kicked off his campaign in the 70th House District with a promise to create an environment for job growth, according to a press release on his website.

“Today, I am filled with optimism and see a brilliant future for Illinois,” Keicher said in the press release. “It’s time to unleash our unlimited ability to be an economic powerhouse by making Illinois government accountable to the citizens of this state.”

Keicher said he will continue to go door-to-door and listen to citizen’s concerns about their community as he aims to claim the seat held by Rep. Robert Pritchard (R-Hinckley), who decided to not seek-re-election. The 70th House District includes portions of DeKalb, Boone and Kane counties.

“As I have walked door-to-door for the past three months, I have been overwhelmed by the support and encouragement from voters in every community in district on these core issues,” Keicher said. “Our friends and neighbors are tired of a dysfunctional state government that has wracked up billions of dollars in debt, higher taxes, and more regulations.”

As a small business owner and a lifelong resident of Illinois, Keicher said understands the frustrations of his constituents and can relate to many of their issues.

“Illinoisans want our leader to engage in thoughtful dialogue and real solutions to fix our problems instead of more political infighting,” Keicher said in the press release.
