City of Dekalb issued the following announcement on Aug. 29.

On Monday, August 27, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) and their partner, Curbside Cart Masters, started cart deliveries throughout DeKalb. Thousands of carts have been delivered and the initial delivery will continue throughout the week. As this is a mass delivery including over 18,000 carts, it is possible some residents may receive a different cart than requested. Residents may need to use the cart(s) delivered for a week or so until the requested cart(s) are exchanged. Please keep the following in mind if you were delivered carts that were different than the request submitted to LRS:

• If you submitted a request before August 17, the delivery should be what was requested. If you received a different cart than the one requested on or before August 17, please contact LRS.
• If you submitted a request after August 17, your request will be fulfilled on your scheduled day of collection beginning the week of September 10. LRS will work as quickly as possible to exchange the carts.

There is a certain number of homes that currently receive service on Thursday whose service day is changing to Wednesday. If you were delivered a cart with a sticker notification stating your day has been changed to Wednesday, please adhere to this notification. There may have also been a cart hanger that had a conflicting statement saying the collection day is not changing, along with other information. Homes that received the cart with two notifications (a sticker and a cart hanger) will have a day change with the new day of collection being Wednesday. An additional notification will be sent by mail to these homes. LRS will send collection drivers to service residents who do not adhere to this change for the first two weeks of September. They will also place an additional notification on a cart to ensure residents know of the day change.
