Turner-Eighner Funeral Home issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.

Thelma Falconer, 82, of Somonauk, IL passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at her home. She was born April 7, 1936 in Benton, IL the daughter of Roy and Florence (McCormick) Childs. She married Ronnie Falconer on March 21, 1953 in Leland, IL. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, IL, where she was very active. Thelma loved traveling with her friends and her family. She was an avid shopper with her many friends. Bust most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by one granddaughter, April (Johnny) Falconer of FL; two grandsons, Brett (Lisa) Falconer of OK, and Dustin Falconer of Aurora, IL; four great grandchildren, Kody, Caleb, Madison and Kayden; niece, Valarie (Tim) Nelson of Leland, IL; great nieces, Caitlyn and Lynsey Nelson, numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Fred Hutchinson, her husband, two sons, Chuck and Bryan Falconer, two sisters, Betty Barnhart and her twin Velma Atwell, five brothers, Jack, Gene, Richard, Roy and Donald Childs.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL, with Pastor Zach Baer officiating. Burial will be private at Leland Cemetery in Leland, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Sunday, December 30, 2018 in the funeral home until the time of services at 1:00 pm.
