DeKalb home prices fall in January 2017

The median sale price of a home sold in January 2017 in DeKalb fell by $11,596 while total sales decreased by 64.3%, according to BlockShopper.com.

In January 2017, there were five homes sold, with a median sale price of $72,404 - a 13.8% decrease over the $84,000 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were 14 homes sold in DeKalb in January 2016.

The median sales tax in DeKalb for 2017 was $4,771. In 2016, the median sales tax was $4,698. This marks an increase of 1.6%. The effective property tax rate, using the median property tax and median home sale price as the basis, is 6.6%.
