City of Sandwich Finance Committee met March 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Finance Chairwoman Killey called the meeting to order at 8:03 PM

Roll call was taken:

Present: Aldermen Dell, Killey & Robinson; City Clerk Ii

Also Present: WSPY Reporter Jim Wyman; Aldermen Chmielewski, Kelleher, McMahon, Redden & Surratt; Treasurer Webber & Ward 4 Candidate Fred Kreinbrink

Review of semi-monthly bills: Bills reviewed to be submitted for payment approval at the Regular Meeting of March 25, 2019. Two purchase orders for meals during CAD training were not approved for payment totaling $76.10.

New Business: Alderman Dell felt that any purchase order presented for payment on an overbudget line item should not be approved. Using office supplies and computer maintenance as examples, Clerk Ii indicated that there will always be some line items that will be overbudget. When Alderman Dell told the City Clerk that she should do a better job of budgeting, Clerk Ii pointed out that the administrative budget is always ‘sliced and diced’ by the Council for the sake of a balanced budget, and without her input.

Audience Comments: None

Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Committee, motion made by Alderman Dell and seconded by Alderman Robinson to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting at 8:21 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
