City of Sandwich City Council met June 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Roll call was taken:

Present: Mayor Robinson, City Clerk Ii, Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Redden & Surratt

Also present: Attorney Harrill, Department of Public Works / City Engineer Horak. Chief Bianchi & EMA Director Ciciora

Absent: City Treasurer Webber

Audience Comments: None

Approval of Minutes: Motion made by Alderman Kelleher, and seconded by Alderman Surratt, to approve the minutes from the Regular Meeting of May 28, 2019 and the Committee- of-the-Whole Council Meeting of June 3, 2019. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Redden, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 8:0

Approval of June Semi-Monthly Bills: Motion was made by Alderwoman Killey, and seconded by Alderwoman Chmielewski, approving payment of the June semi-monthly bills in the total amount of $145,418.92. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Redden, Robinson & Surratt Nay: 0 Motion carried 8:0

Mayor Robinson:

Resolution 19-09 entitled “A Resolution Providing for Collateralization of Deposits and Designating Signatories for Banking Transactions” presented for adoption. The resolution will list approved signatories for the City’s financial records adding Richard W. Robinson and removing Rick Olson.

Motion made by Alderman Surratt, and seconded by Alderman Kelleher, to adopt Resolution 19-09 as presented. Aye: Alderman Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Redden, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 8:0

Executive Session: Mayor Robinson requested Executive Session at the end of the meeting under Section 2(c)(5) regarding possible purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body.

No action to be taken.

City Treasurer Webber: Absent

Director of Public Works / City Engineer Horak

Plan Commission regular meeting for Tuesday, June 11, 2019 has been cancelled.

2017 6th Street Water Main Replacement Project: Engineer Horak requested approval of change order #3 dated May 23, 2019 for final quantity adjustments in an amount of $928.00, and approval of pay request #4 and final dated April 26, 2019 in an amount of $18,302.47.

So moved by Alderman Redden and seconded by Alderman Surratt. Aye: Alderman

CMAP Planning Priorities Report presentation is scheduled for Monday, June 17, 2019. Chief Bianchi: No report

Alderwoman Chiemlewski: No report

Alderman Dell: No report

Nay:0

Alderman Kelleher asked if the City has a mosquito abatement program. Response was yes but restricted to standing water only.

Alderwoman Killey advised that the next finance committee meeting will be held on Monday, June 17th, 2019.

Alderman Kreinbrink reported that he has mailed 13 RFP’s (request for proposal) for a City auditor. He noted that the RSP is also posted on the City’s website.

Alderman Redden: No report Alderman Robinson: No report

Alderman Surratt reported that he continues to receive complaints about tall, unmown grass. He was advised that these complaints should be referred to the Police Department.

Executive Session:

Motion made by Alderman Redden, and seconded by Alderman Kelleher to go into executive session at 7:12 PM, pursuant to Section 2(c)(5) “The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body”. Aye: Aldermen Chmielewski, Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Redden, Robinson & Surratt Nay:0 Motion carried 8:0

Motion to return from Executive Session: Motion made by Alderman Redden and seconded by Alderman Surratt return to regular session at 7:41 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.

Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Council, motion made by Alderman Redden and seconded by Alderman Kelleher to adjourn the Regular Council meeting at 7:44 PM. Motion carried unanimously by viva voce vote.
