Village of Kingston Village Board met Sept. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The regular Village Board Meeting with the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kingston, was called to order at 7:00p.m. by President Jim Baenziger, in the Village Board Room, at the Kingston Municipal Building, 101 E. Railroad St., Kingston, DeKalb County, Illinois.

ROLL CALL:

Upon roll call by President Baenziger, the following were in attendance:

Present: 5, President Baenziger, Trustees Frank Altmaier, Joe Hengels, John Lynch and Steve Van Buren.

Absent: 1, Trustee Jack Fischer

AGENDA ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS:

None at this time.

MINUTES:

Motion by Trustee Lynch, seconded by Trustee Van Buren to approve the August 5, 2019 Minutes.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Hengels, Lynch and Van Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Fischer

Motion carried.

CITIZENS COMMENTS:

None at this time.

VILLAGE OFFICERS REPORT:

Police Department Not in attendance.

Attorney Not in attendance.

Public Works Not in attnedance.

Village Engineer Not in attendance.

Village Clerk Nothing new to report.

Treasurer Not in attendance.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

President Baenziger informed the Board that a resident that is renting to buy at 215 Karen Street wants to lengthen Karen Street.

Property Maintenance Nothing new to report.

Thurlby Road Sewer Repairs Anderson Excavating will begin the repairs next week due to the weather.

Employee Paid Holidays This item will be Tabled.

Commonwealth Edison Lighting 

Motion by Trustee Lynch, seconded by Trustee Altmaier to Assessment approve the Commonwealth Edison Lighting Assessment.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Hengels, Lynch and Van

Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Fischer.

Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS:

President Baenziger acknowledged Public Works efforts to help the State Highway Department clean up the trees that were down on Illinois Route 72.

Waste Management 

Motion by Trustee Hengels, Seconded by Trustee Lynch to accept the amendment request to the current waste removal contract to increase residents monthly garbage rate to offset the gas tax increase.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 0.

Nays: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Hengels, Lynch and Van

Buren.

Absent: 0, Trustee Fischer.

Motion failed.

Anderson Excavating 

Motion by Trustee Lynch, seconded by Trustee Hengels to approve for payment invoice number 5394, dated August 21, 2019, in the amount of $3,022.50 for sewer repairs on Thurlby Road.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Hengels, Lynch and Van

Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Fischer.

Motion carried.

Cam-Vac Inc. 

Motion by Trustee Lynch, seconded by Trustee Van Buren to approve for payment invoice number 1572, dated August 13, 2019 in the amount of $3,000.00 for the cleaning of 10" storm lines and structures.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Hengels, Lynch and Van

Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Fischer.

Motion carried.

Sherwin Williams Co.

Motion by Trustee Hengels, seconded by Trustee Lynch to approve for payment invoice number 4544-2, dated August 14, 2019, in the amount of $4,524.44 for a striper and supplies for the Public Works Department.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 4, Trustees Altmaier, Hengels, Lynch and Van

Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 1, Trustee Fischer.

Motion carried.

COMMENTS:

Trustee Lynch discussed an option of using Seal Master for repairing streets.

ADJOURNMENT:

Trustee Lynch motion, seconded by Trustee Van Buren to adjourn the meeting at 7:34 p.m.
