Somonauk Community Unit School District No. 432 Building/Grounds and Finance Committee met April 16.

The Building/Grounds and Finance Committee Meeting of the Board of Education, Somonauk Community Unit School District No. 432, was held in the Somonauk High School Legacy Room at 6:02 p.m.
The following members were present in person: Mike Short and Jay Streicher, Superintendent.
The following members participated remotely: Nick Deacon, Scott Horsch, Norm Johnson, and Tom Nielsen.
Michelle James shared a presentation that included multiple upgrades including roofs, HVAC, controls, electrical, and LMC upgrades. There were two options presented, one for 2 million dollars and the second option for 2.5 million dollars.
PMA discussed that the bond market has been trending in the positive direction, but the coronavirus has caused some instability. It was said that our fund balances and energy savings could be used to offset some of the costs.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 p.m. On a voice vote, all members present voted “Aye”. Motion carried.
