Village of Kingston Village Board met May 18.

MEETING CALL:

The regular Village Board Meeting with the Board of Trustees of the Village of Kingston, was called to order at 7:00p.m. by President Jim Baenziger, Monday, April 20, 2020 in the Village Garage, at the Kingston Municipal Building, 101 E. Railroad St., Kingston, DeKalb County, Illinois.

ROLL CALL:

Upon roll call by President Baenziger, the following were in attendance:

Present: 6, President Baenziger, Trustees Frank Altmaier, Jack Fischer, Joe Hengels, John Lynch and Steve Van Buren.

Absent: 0.

AGENDA ADDITIONS OR CORRECTIONS:

Trustee Lynch added the Kishwaukee Water Reclamation District. President Baenziger added the well house pump and Trustee Fischer added the IDOT Grant and the Regional Planning Commission.

OMNIBUS AGENDA:

Motion by Trustee Hengels, seconded by Trustee Van Buren to approve the Omnibus Agenda.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 5, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels, Lynch and Van Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 0.

TREASURER'S REPORT: Approved

WARRANTS: Approved

MINUTES: April 20, 2020 Approved

CITIZENS COMMENTS:

Village residents Paul Kruse and Eric Krocka discussed the currently flooding situation that is impacting Gladys Court in the Windhaven Subdivision.

NEW BUSINESS:

B & F Construction Code Services Invoice

Motion by Trustee Altmaier, seconded by Trustee Fischer to approve for payment invoice number 12697, dated May 8, 2020, in the amount of $625.20 for miscellaneous plan reviews and property maintenance for the month of April 2020.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 5, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels, Lynch and

Van Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 0.

Motion carried.

B & F Construction Code Services Invoice

Motion by Trustee Lynch, seconded by Trustee Hengels to ratify the payment of invoice number 12466, dated April 6, 2020, in the amount of $529.15 for miscellaneous plan reviews and inspections for the month of February 2020.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 5, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels, Lynch and

Van Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 0.

Motion carried.

B & F Construction Code Services Invoice

Motion by Trustee Lynch, seconded by Trustee Altmaier to ratify the payment of invoice number 12577, dated April 6, 2020, in the amount of $800.00 for miscellaneous plan review and inspections for the month of March 2020.

ROLL CALL VOTE:

Ayes: 5, Trustees Altmaier, Fischer, Hengels, Lynch and

Van Buren.

Nays: 0.

Absent: 0.

NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED:

Public Works Generator Purchase. 

Currently the Village is renting a generator at a monthly rate of $1,350.00 a month from Rush Power Systems. Mr. Kamp discussed purchasing the generator that the Village is currently using. Rush Power Systems will apply $5400.00 of credit to the purchase. The Trustees discussed options for purchasing the generator. No action by the Board at this time.

President Baenziger stated that pump at the lift station is having mechanical issues. Public Works has found an additional 9 man holes with heavy infiltration. Mr. Kamp has contacted Duke's Root Service to do the repairs.

Trustee Fischer stated that through the Rebuild Illinois capital program the Village of Kingston will be receiving $76,712.16. Trustee Fischer also stated that Trustee Altmaier needs to be added to the Regional Planning Committee.

Trustee Lynch stated an $2,500.00 will be needed for the grant with the Kishwaukee Reclamation District.
