DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board Funds Review Ad Hoc Committee met June 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Committee Members Present: Laurie Emmer, Jennie Geltz, Robert Cook, Jerry Helland

Other Persons Present:

Office staff: Deanna Cada, Kathy Ostdick

1. Call to Order

Ms. Emmer called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m.

2. Agenda Approval

Ms. Geltz moved to approve the agenda; seconded by Mr. Cook. The motion passed unanimously on a voice vote.

3. New Business

Ms. Emmer asked the Committee to discuss the purpose of the Committee. The Committee decided to brain storm about expenditures that should be discussed after the sale of the building at 12 Health Services Drive. The Committee discussed funds being used for programs and for brick and mortar type expenditures.

Ms. Cada reviewed the building sale process to date and told the Committee that quite a few things were up in the air regarding the sale. She added that having ideas as to the distribution of the sale dollars from this Committee was a good start. Ms. Cada will keep the Committee informed as to other developments as they happen.

Mr. Cook asked how many programs in DeKalb County addressed Black issues. Ms. Cada said she had asked our funded agencies that questions and only Safe Passage had a program to address that need. The Committee agreed that this is a priority to be on the list of expenditures for the building sale dollars.

4. Date of Next Meeting: 6/23/20 13. Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 5:15 pm
