DeKalb County Board of Review met May 13.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
Those in attendance via telephone conference: John Guio, Bob Merriman and Dan Cribben, Members; Michelle Christensen, Interim Clerk.
1. Call to order: Meeting called to order at 10:01 am.
II. Roll call: All present
III. Approval of minutes from last meeting: April 8, 2020 meeting was cancelled to due covid-19. Bob made a motion to approve March 11, 2020 minutes, Dan seconded. All in favor, motion passes.
IV. Public Comments: None V. Work Load:
a. Review to Approve / Deny Disabled Person Exemptions (HEPD): Board reviewed and approved 7 new, 79 renewals, and denied 1 renewal of HEPD applications submitted. See attached list.
b. Review to Approve / Deny Disabled Veteran Exemptions (SHEDV): Board reviewed and approved 4 new, 86 renewals, and denied 1 new and 1 renewal of SHEDV applications submitted. See attached list.
c. Review to Approve / Deny Senior Exemptions (HE): Board reviewed and approved 20 new HE applications. See attached list.
d. Review to for Recommendation for Non-Homestead Exemptions: Board reviewed and made a recommendation to IDOR to approve 5 and deny 1 of Non-Homestead Exemption applications submitted. See attached list.
e. Review of, Prepare and Make a Recommendation for PTAB Appeals: Board reviewed correspondence received from PTAB regarding appellant's rejection of stipulations submitted by Board of Review for two 2018 appeals being Joseph Gibson and Hall Street Lofts LP. Board believes stipulations submitted to both appellants is fair and will await decision from PTAB. Board reviewed the 2018 Spirit Master funding III LLC file. Interim Clerk will contact CCAO to see what else is needed for evidence submission on this appeal.
f. Review to Approve / Deny Certificate of Errors: John made a motion to approve the 181 Certificate of Errors, with regards to the prearrangement appointment for Dan to review and approve in person on Thursday, May 14 in the Administration Bldg vestibule at 1:30 pm. Bob seconded motion. All in favor motion passed.
VI. Other Business: Board will have an additional May business meeting to ensure Certificate of Error approval for tax payer receipt of corrected tax bill generation and mailing before first installment due date.
VII. Adjournment: John moved to adjourn; Bob seconded. All in favor, so moved. Meeting adjourned at 11:20 am
