Analysis: DeKalb pays $6.98 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Dekalb Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 87.2 percent of the $3,973,252 the Dekalb Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $6.98 for every $1 from pension members, according to a DeKalb Times analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, DeKalb contributed $3,466,072 to the fund, which saw a $478,844 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $496,109, or 12.5 percent, in 2018. Another $11,071 came from other unspecified sources.
