Petersburg Community FPD responds to 30 fires in 2018

Petersburg Community Fire Protection District responded to 44 calls in 2018 - 15.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Petersburg Community included 30 fires - 12 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 16 other fires.

In all, the department saw $163,900 in fire loss - or about $5,463 per fire.

The department also received 14 false calls.

The Petersburg Community Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $130,039 in 2018.
