Sandwich Fire Protection Department responded to 131 calls in 2018 - 0.8 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Sandwich included 33 fires - 19 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 12 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,758,450 in fire loss - or about $53,286 per fire.

The department also received 97 false calls, including two malicious calls and 95 other false calls.

The Sandwich Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $1,088,304 in 2018.
