Kirkland FPD responds to nine fires in 2018

Kirkland Fire Protection Department responded to 20 calls in 2018, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Kirkland included nine fires - five structure fires and four other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $130,002 in fire loss - or about $14,445 per fire.

The department also received 10 false calls.

The Kirkland Fire Protection Department had an annual budget of $359,036 in 2018.
