City Of Dekalb FD responds to 116 fires in 2018

City of Dekalb Fire Department responded to 645 calls in 2018 - 2.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in City Of Dekalb included 116 fires - 74 structure fires, 14 vehicle fires and 28 other fires. The fire department also responded to nine calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $2,210,925 in fire loss - or about $19,060 per fire.

The department also received 520 false calls, including 17 malicious calls and 503 other false calls.

The calls resulted in six civilian fire-related injuries.
