Anderson Funeral Home Crematory - Dekalb recently issued the following announcement.

DR. CLINTON J. JESSER

November 28, 1934 - December 11, 2020

Dr, Clinton J. Jesser, 86, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Thursday, December 11, 2020, at Bria Care Center in Geneva, Illinois, due to complications from a fall at home a few weeks earlier.

He was born November 28, 1934 in Streeter, Illinois, the son of Henry and Hulda (Brenniese) Jesser. He had an older brother, Delton Jesser, of Moorhead, Minnesota. Clinton married Marilyn Smith in Huron, South Dakota on August 24, 1958.

Following high school graduation, Clinton attended Sioux Falls College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, obtaining a Bachelors Degree in Social Science. He attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, obtaining a Masters Degree in Sociology, and a Doctoral Degree from Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan. Prior to joining the faculty at Northern Illinois University in 1964, he taught Rural Sociology at the University of Missouri for three years.  Clinton was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in DeKalb since 1965. He was a member of several professional organizations related to his teaching career for many years.

He is survived by his former wife, Marilyn Yordy of Sycamore; his daughter, Lisa Greenacre of Santa Monica, California; his son, Nathan Jesser of DeKalb; two grandchildren, Jacob Greenacre and Lara Greenacre; four nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his brother Delton Jesser.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Dr. Clinton J. Jesser Memorial Fund, addressed to the Jesser Family in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
