EVELYN B. NEWELL
October 30, 1946 - January 10, 2021
Evelyn B. Newell,74, of Creston, Illinois, died Sunday, January 10, 2021, at Rochelle Community Hospital.
She was born October 30, 1946 Ryer Island, California, the daughter of Leland O. and Geneva E. (Lee) Young. Evelyn married William Eugene Newell on June 7, 1969, in Sycamore, Illinois.
Evelyn was employed at Northern Illinois University as a custodian for ten years. She enjoyed line dancing at the Moose.
She is survived by her five children, William Schorsch III, Karrie (Kenneth) Buckley, Rhonda (Jeff) Norris, Keith Newell and Lynn Wallace; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings, Ancel Young, Lois Jensen, Lawrence (Larcinda) Young, Phyllis (Everett) Elshoff , Anna (Everett) Lane; lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her daughter, Tracy Schorsch; her parents and grandson, Jacob Wallace.
A Private Family Service will be held at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb the Rev. Judy Williams of Rochelle Community Hospital Chapel officiating. Cremation will follow service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, in memory of Evelyn B. Newell in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
