Sycamore grad Ben Niemann playing in Super Bowl LV today

Ben Niemann, a graduate of Sycamore High School, will be playing in his second Super Bowl game today with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A third-year linebacker, Niemann is an Iowa alum who signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent. His father, Jay, is the assistant defensive line coach and defensive recruiting coordinator for Iowa.

Super Bowl LV will see the defending NFL champions Kansas City Chiefs playing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

The Chiefs recorded an NFL-best 14–2 record in 2020 under eighth-year head coach Andy Reid while the Buccaneers, with 20-year veteran quarterback Tom Brady, finished the 2020 season with an 11–5 record under second-year head coach Bruce Arians.
