City of Sandwich City Council met Feb. 8.

Mayor Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:02 PM

Roll call was taken:

Also present: Director of Public Works / City Engineer Horak, Building Official Steffens, Chief Bianchi & EMA Director Ciciora

Consent Agenda: Motion made by Alderman Littlebrant, and seconded by Alderman Kelleher, to adopt the Consent Agenda. Aye: Aldermen Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, Littlebrant, Robinson & Whitecotton Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0

a. Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes of January 15, 2021

b. Approval of Committee-of-the-Whole Meeting Minutes of February 1, 2021 c. Approval of February bills totaling $ 141,214.42

Mayor Robinson reported that appointment information on the Covid vaccine can be found on the County Health Department websites for DeKalb and Kendall Counties. Questions can be directed to the respective health departments via phone.

Additionally, the City is experiencing yet another snowstorm, and the Mayor reported city crews are staying current on plowing and salting.

Regular Council Meeting February 8, 2021

City Department Reports:

EMA Director: No report

Director of Public Works / City Engineer Horak

1. Plan Commission regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 6:30 PM in the City Hall Annex Building. Public hearing will be on five text amendments to the City’s Municipal Code:

a. PC2021-02: Change setback requirements of properties abutting Church Street

b. PC2021-03: Change definition of Structure

c. PC2021-04: Change definition of Lot Coverage

d. PC2021-05: Add Construction Companies to list of prohibited home occupations

e. PC2021-06: Change wording of barbed wire extension direction

2. Clark Street WTP (Water Treatment Plant) Pressure Filter Media Replacement Project – bid opening is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10th at 10:00 AM. To date, three contractors have expressed interest.

3. Lower Little Rock Creek Watershed Study – Goals Workshop Virtual/Remote Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Audience participation in this workshop meeting will assist in setting the watershed project goals and priorities.

Aldermen Reports: None

Announcements: The next Finance Committee Meeting will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 following the Committee-of-the-Whole Meeting.

A Special Meeting will be held immediately following the Regular Meeting of February 8th to discuss the 2021-2022 budget.

Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Council, motion made by Alderman Kelleher and seconded by Alderman Whitecotton to adjourn the Regular Council meeting at 7:07 PM. Motion carried unanimously via vice voce vote.
